I had rather liked the 1st October Fall book (not so much the 2nd) and Michigan Fall, so thought I would give this a try. Marcus is a decent, likeable and capable guy and his dog Crapper/Snuggles is one of the book's strongest characters. This story does neither of them justice. There is a lot of time (and I mean a lot) spent dwelling on the betrayal of Marcus by his former girlfriend and best friend. I don't need to hear he has a heart of glass that often. There is a major improbability in blood types here. About 15% of people are RH negative, yet Marcus, Rebekka and her parents are all A negative (just over 6% of the population) and Dana is AB negative. That many people together all RH negative? Convenient but Nah. We also get a dose of the right-wing leaning of the author with the lament that there was no more news like Newsmax and Fox and when there is a release of a virus from a lab in Wuhan (sigh), there are comments from Bethseda from a Dr Falsie. Please stop with that silliness. The dialogue is often does in a long, long back and forth where it can be hard to tell who is actually talking, and the dialogue itself feels unnatural. sophom*oric and wooden at times. These people have been under attack by a larger, hostile group, the two young women kidnapped for recreation, and yet they are continually obsessing over how Marcus is so handsome and trying to win his attention. Priorities! Over all, I managed to finish this book, but have no interest in this group going forward.

This is one excellent book! This is a great book! The characters are one hell of a group! Once you start it, you will definitely not put it down. A Vet comes home to be destroyed by the woman he loved. But she really did him a favor when the pulse hits. He finds himself on a campsight in the middle of nowhere Minnesota and meets a family that brings him back to life. They struggle but make it work. Looking forward to the next book .

Ok but some glaring issues The boon started well. Some issues you can tell the authors do Not live in MN. 1 restaurant at beginning we don't have. 2. They started with 1 city, which yes is by the Canadian border, but then started calling it another city name that is spelled Similar that is in Central MN. The love triangle got old quick. The 2 girls wanted 1 guy not backing off. Honestly this one was hard to read and I'm from MN and looking forward to it.

where's Crapper?? I have enjoyed all of these books immensely. I have one question however, along with "her", what happened to Snuggles/Crapper? Last seen on page 421 but absent for the remInder of the book. I hope he's ok and will make a return appearance in Minnesota Fall 2.

Good read It was great that another of Paul's group has his story being told. Living in Minnesota I liked the locale and surroundings. The romantic and some of the dialogue was and seemed childish and unrealistic. Less is more. In saying that, can't wait for the next chapter and hope it's soon.

Minnesota Fall This is a great read! I loved the story. I loved the characters. The author did a wonderful job in character development. I consider this one of the best EMP type of series out there. I look forward to the next book. If you want a good book to curl up with, check this book out! You won't be disappointed.

Best book in the series The writer continues to get better in his writing style and story line. Can't wait for book 6 to come out and follow the story line of this all too possible scenario.

Amazing Storytelling The Falls series is one of my favorites in this genre. I feel like I know these people and share their lives. It’s so hard to go slowly and read every word and not just consume it as quickly as possible. Really looking forward to the next one!!

pretty good… Not the most realistic I’ve ever read, but overall pretty good. I don’t think I know anyone who can take out 40-50 without so much as a scratch. And, we should ever have such an event I hope I can find a bevy of beautiful ladies to pursue me!

Minnesota fall Generally good story tied to others previously read, but in a different part of the USA. Same beginning premise but definitely a different approach to the survival of the prepared or fittest.

Ugh. This was, sadly, just terrible. I only finished it because I'm on a quest to read as many books as possible this year, lol. The writing is bad and the "love story" juvenile. So far the rest of this series of books have been great but I wouldn't recommend this one.

it ain’t Florida. Here you are. Fresh out of book 4 ready for more accolades of your Florida friends when all of a sudden you’re stuck in BFM. I’ll be honest it’s not as good as book 1-4 so far but it’s definitely still a solid read and it’s a great set up for something more!

Too cold, climate and people too much simplistic Bumkin thinking and dialog here. a dumbed down play. This is the second chance for evil people adapting to fit the group plot, not realistic to let them join. That type XO not stay better.

Great Reading I absolutely love this series. Some of the things that happen seem unreal... but guess again. America is very vulnerable, and we need to correct that ASAP, but we need new leaders across the political board for that.

Wow That was a really good story and continuation of the story. I enjoyed the characters and that they have a connection to the prior ones. Looking forward to the next one. A definite recommend!

No what I was hoping for...... Very choppy compared to the first few books I read in this series. A decent storyline just hard to keep up. There was much less action in the book. It would have made it easier to read.

Ok. The story has potential but the time line needs work. Julius could not have been a Vietnam & gone to school with Wendall & Clive.

Quantity over Quality I felt like I reading an elementary school. Not every idea has to have 12+ series. Stop it. Everything turns.

Enjoyed the story line and look forward to the second book. However the tactics are maddening. I’m not seeing any team building for anyone except two female characters.

Well Written Another interesting story, Marcus is a man to be admired but one felt sorry for his lack of understanding of women. However he is not alone in that way.

Not worth your time The book starts out OK but quickly turns into a Hallmark movie, where the hero cries a lot, in between killing a few bad guys, and women are chasing after him.
