Move on folks, already pending. That's how ridiculous the hunt is getting these days, especially on cars that may be undervalued. This one will need a lot of TLC, which is free. The other stuff will be typical $1500 worth of maintenance, and a new roof/window.

Did you buy it? Love to see you work some magic on this one.

^^^^I didn't, someone from SC is going to get it, with a trailer. Whoever you are, I hope you won't gloat if it's real nice. This car will probably come out real nice after it's resurrected. I would love to have been a part of that process, but it shant be.

Dang, someone "may" have gotten a decent deal. Even if it takes $1K - $2K, you'd still have a sweet and unique DD Miata for around $5K (with cost of travel).
Glad to see another one saved, at least I hope and not parted.
Unless hidden costs, I think this was a very fair price.

Hmmm ... someone with a history of barn finds just relocated his trailer from PA to SC. I wonder ...

Dang all of 5 hours old. Good thing I wasn't here 5 hours ago, I could have already been in B'Ham with cash in hand. I can beat anyone from SC to B'Ham from where I live.
Hopefully its as nice as it sounds. Gonna be a nice one to make right again if it as described.
I take no offense to being called a flipper. I have made quite a few people very happy with cars I have gone through and made right and sold at a reasonable profit. I am very open about any buyer I get. If someone take offense to it, they have never told me about it.

Well, if you missed out on that one, there's always this 93LE, with just 85k miles for $3300.
charlotte.craigslist.org/cto/4434771476.html
Okay, so it's 85k on the engine, not chassis, and salvage title - sorry. :O
But for someone looking for a 93LE to race, it may be a nice package.

Is the market really that tight? I posted it because I knew I couldn't pull the trigger, but over dinner was already scheming about skipping the autox with my son, renting a flatbed, etc. hope someone here got it!

Car sat for 9 years and the ad says "exceptionally well maintained"
More honest description would be "recent maintenance after years of sitting"...

Took minimal effort to get it current and in this condition. So it was well maintained in storage for 9 years.

Here's the previous for sale listing on another Miata site with the owners description. http://mazdaroadster.net/showthread.php?9106-FS-1993-Limited-Edition-Miata-2-500-SOLD
And a thread on our own forum about what was done to it after purchase. http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=541480
Not sure that well maintained in storage and minimal effort is accurate here. Seems like a LOT of effort has been put in to bring it back, certainly does seem nice in the pics!

Looks like Mrs Mustang must have a new favorite already, and this one's been relegated to the dirt lot. That, or he's hunting a new one or he's just plain bored :D

LOL. This was an easy barn find restore. Rubber, fluids, tires, cleaning and major tune up. That is a awesome barn find. Pretty much the standard age items. With the exception of the fender crease, this car was a GIFT of a find.
I just picked up a 95 that was parked and stored in the garage for 8 years. 46K miles. Original owner. Needs a lot more than this car did.
Gas looks like syrup in the tank. I paid a lot less then he did also.
I think what is important to also note is that the work he performed was probably around 2K, plus his trip both ways plus the purchase price. Mr. Stang isn't marking this car up much at all. Gonna be a great bargain twice.

Indeed - there's a 93LE in the M.net classifieds with near-identical miles for a full two grand more ... and that one seems priced right. MrM is clearly going for the quick sale here - someone will get a relative bargain.

Don't think it's a bargain, priced in the neighborhood of decent, priced that way because of the spread between buy and sell, that simple.
Replaced fender, dirty engine bay, needs a radiator at some point, how are the shocks, needs a top, and what more? So, $5900 is all the money. I'd like to know what it does sell for, whether someone in SC will actually pay that for this car, or whether someone is willing to travel, and at what price?

I'm sorry, but a car that doesn't run, has four flat tires, and a coolant leak is not well-maintained in storage. Cosmetically, you may have an argument, but to me, "well-maintained" means it's ready to go (and not on a trailer). I agree with you JTod. Yes, minimal effort brought it to its current state.
I'm curious why he didn't didn't get a new radiator for it. Relatively easy thing to do, especially if you're flushing the coolant. But that's a pretty nice price considering the car cosmetically as well as the recent maintenance by a known member...a new top (and radiator) gives some negotiating room.

Well, this morning I took a joyride down to Greenville for Cars & Coffee, after which MrM helped me install a Hartz cloth top on the BRG. And by "helped," I mean I stayed out of his way and let the expert do his thing. Here's a picture of my BRG next to MrsM's.
That OT rabbit trail aside, I can say that I saw the 93LE while down there. Not my call to make, so I'll leave it up to the owner to decide whether they wish disclose the car's status here - but it does looks quite nice. ;)

I absolutely agree, and may pull the set off of my other project car and put them on SWMBO'd 91 BRG. They really jazz up the look.

This is quite bizarre. The car advertised on Craigslist was your car, the background was of the storage facility your BRG is parked in front of, the mileage is exactly where it should be, the small variables that make every car unique are present, and yet you are coy as to whether your car was up for sale. Why? As Redrocket asked, was the car that you own the one on Craigslist? I'd like to know why you are making like it wasn't.

I'm not the brightest bulb on the tree but this thread is way confusing. Since the car in question is no longer available, let's close it down before it becomes a different, and less desirable, topic.
