Background[]

Vault-Tec bobbleheads are found on the eastern side of the former United States, throughout the Capital Wasteland. Bobbleheads were exclusive Vault-Tec merchandise available to executive-level employees of the Vault-Tec Corporation.^[1] They were also offered as gifts to individuals who had been accepted into vaults.^[2]

Characteristics[]

There are 20 bobbleheads in the Capital Wasteland. Each of the Vault-Tec bobbleheads permanently increases one of the 7 SPECIAL statistics by 1 point, or one of the 13 skills of the player character by 10 points.

The bobbleheads will not increase a statistic beyond the maximum of 10 (S.P.E.C.I.A.L.) or 100 (skills). If one has already reached the maximum levels of skills and SPECIAL points, the bobbleheads will not add additional points. Once found, the bobbleheads can be stored on a bobblehead collector's stand in the Megaton house or the Tenpenny Tower suite.

Two of the achievements and trophies involve collecting the bobbleheads. The first achievement/trophy is Yes, I Play with Dolls and is awarded for collecting 10 bobbleheads. The second achievement/trophy is Vault-Tec C.E.O., received once all 20 are found.

Bobblehead - Melee Weapons	Dunwich Building: Go through the Dunwich Building, go through the Forsaken Dunwich Ruins and go to the virulent underchambers (where one can also destroy the Krivbeknih.) Notes[]

On PC, bobbleheads acquired via player.additem console command cannot be put on the bobblehead stand, and do not count towards any of the bobblehead-related achievements. However, it is possible to spawn a bobblehead via the player.placeatme console command, which can be picked up and placed on a bobblehead stand.
Bobbleheads taken from the TestQAItems test cell cannot be put on a bobblehead stand.
In the Point Lookout add-on, seven "fake" bobbleheads called Schmault-Tec bubblehead appear during a hallucination sequence.
Regardless of where the bobbleheads are found, they all wear Vault 101 jumpsuits.

Behind the scenes[]

Quest designer Alan Nanes worked on the implementation of the Vault-Tec bobbleheads in Fallout 3.^{[Non-game 1]}
The bobbleheads were used as a Fallout 3 promotional item by Bethesda Softworks and are included in the Collector's Edition of the game. They are similar to those in-game, but are shorter with an arms crossed pose.
