Located on the Simpson Bay side of St. Martin, Toppers has a wide variety of food and drinks to choose from. They have outdoor seating if the weather is nice, and they also offer a few TVs for watching your favorite show while you wait. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible and accepts American Express, Mastercard and Visa. Wi-Fi is free to use, making it a great spot to come for some relaxation after exploring the island.

We had an amazing time at Toppers. The dinner and rhum tasting were both fantastic. Everything flavor rhum was outstanding. The rhum cake is to die for. We had the pleasure of meeting Colden, his dad and Mr Topper himself. Great staff and an overall amazing experience. I highly recommend adding this to your itinerary.

Went to Topper's for dinner while staying in Simpsons Bay. Its a cool venue with ice cream and rum for sale in the front and dining and bar area in the back. They had karaoke on while we were there which was nice entertainment while we had dinner. The g.f. and I bothe ordered the chicken parm (they were out of lobster sadly). The chicken was cooked perfectly and tge sauce was amazing. There are lots of options on the menu to suit anyone's choice. Prices were reasonable and service was good.I would recommend Topper's and will return next time I'm in SXM.

Toppers is a great little place in Simpson Bay. Very laid back vibe with great service, food and drinks, and very reasonably priced! Had this drink the bartender created on the fly, Bruschetta, Kamikaze Calamari, Brisket with gravy, and Rum Cake! Oh man! Put them on your list for when you visit.

Chris A — Google review

Nice atmosphere. The windows slide open on both side, providing natural air. Water surrounds the restaurant providing a warming and relaxed feeling. The host was very friendly, asking questions to provide our needs. I ordered the rigatoni with vodka and cream sauce. My pasta was served and and was one of the best dishes I've tasted on the island.

Tabetha N — Google review

Right after the Rhum tour we made reservations for the restaurant. Even got a lovely welcome from Topper himself who was roaming the building! The crab-stuffed Mahi-Mahi was excellent with delicious carrots and rice on the side. The coconut Shrimp was also up to par, and it was karaoke night which happened right around 8pm! Great night, excited to go back!

Anna P — Google review

There are certain places that you go overseas and expect to be in a touristy area. This place struck me as one that was just authentically local. The owner walks around and talks to the people and owns several other businesses throughout the island. This location was recommended to us by one of the taxi operators so we went for breakfast. We had an opportunity to sample one of the lunch time and dinner time offerings. The owner invited us to try the beef, mashed potatoes, and carrots dish that he serves. I found this dish was very good and worth a visit to enjoy. While we were sitting there for breakfast, one of the fishermen came in with a huge lobster that we had an opportunity to see and take a picture of it before they prepared it.

Ice creams are soooooo good! We had an ice cream composed of vanilla/ banana/ cinnamon and it was great. They also have rum based ice creams. I liked the peanut butter one. They have over 20 tastes. We had diner at the restaurant. Food is simple. It is correct. Nothing crazy but fine.

Myriam B — Google review

Karaoke from Sunday to Thursday. It's a vibe. The drinks are good. The food is ok.There's an ice cream store at the front of the building.

Our party of four made reservations for Saturday night. It turned out, we did not need reservations, as there were many empty tables. Once we sat down, the circus began. We were waited on by at least three different waiters and none of them seemed to be the least bit interested in making our first dining experience at Toppers a memorable occasion. In fact, I doubt that any of us plan on going back. It took a very long time to get our drinks and food. It also took a very long time to get our bill and check out. We were there for an hour and 45 minutes and they were not busy at all--I can't imagine what happens if they get busy. Two of us ordered French onion soup. What we got, came in a very large shallow bowl and was barely warm. Shredded cheese of some type was sprinkled over the dark liquid. There was a tiny round of French bread with a little more cheese on it floating in the large shallow pond of onion flavored brown liquid. The taste of the soup was not terrible, but it probably would have been better if the liquid was warm enough to melt the cheese or if there was enough cheese to coat the surface. I ordered beef brisket, which had a good flavor but was very tough to chew. My wife ordered a scallop dish which was excellent, very tasty and a nice presentation. As for the other couple with us, the wife had a hamburger platter that was mediocre at best, except the French fries were mushy and the burger was overcooked. The husband had a "hanging skewer" of shrimp which was very good. All in all, not the best dining experience in our two weeks on the island. We will not be returning.

James B — Google review

We were here in May and came back on this latest trip in October for lunch. The food was tasty, well prepared, delivered quickly to the table by the attentive bar tender. Susan had the Angus burger and I had the Hot Pastrami, both delicious although it was a bit big for her, I ate the rest. Fries were delicious and the views of the Lagoon were spectacular. I sat looking back at Snoopy Island and Port de Plaisance. We will go back again.

Guy A — Google review

The Gelatoria was good ice cream. Great service and we had to go again. Coconut Mango Coffee or more. Lots of customers coming in. The Gelatoria is part of the restaurant complex, not a separate business to review on its own. So, it's hard to make it for this operation alone. Friendly service and great ice cream. The building is a plus to see from the outside. Enjoy some for yourself!

Bob M — Google review

A must-visit for anyone visiting the island. The BBQ ribs came highly recommended by our waitress, and I am glad we took the suggestion! We returned on our last night on the island where we endulged even more. We shared the Toppers tuna, then my husband enjoyed a perfectly cooked New York Strip while I had the crab-stuffed mahi mahi. Even though we were full, we had to get dessert. The Chocolate Fix and Da Banana went down easily! If you're looking for a way to curb your sweet tooth during the day, stop up front for some gelato. We also did the distillery tour, and our tour guide, Christina, was fantastic! It was just the right combination of history, the rhum making process, and of course, plenty of rhum samples. We took home quite a few rhum cakes!Last but not least, Topper, the owner, clearly loves what he does, so be sure to talk with him if you get the chance!

Emily W — Google review

We went to Topper's for the Rhum tour, which was fun and enjoyable. After the tour we decided to have lunch in their restaurant. Big Mistake! The restaurant was empty; only 2 other tables and they were from the tour as well. Service was terrible. It took 15 minutes for someone to finally take our order. Another 10-15 minutes to bring our 2 drinks. We called over an employee to check on our meals, and he said the kitchen was busy preparing "to go" orders, which was absolutely not true. It took 45 minutes after we placed our order to finally receive our meals. We both ordered the pastrami sandwiches. We were certainly not expecting the same quality pastrami sandwich you would get at Katz's Deli in Manhattan, but what we received was absolutely terrible. The pastrami sandwich was thinner than a grilled cheese sandwich, with one slice of pastrami and one slice of cheese. The fries were room temperature and soggy, most likely because it was sitting on the pass for 30 minutes. We called the bartender/server over and told him this was unacceptable. He offered to comp the meal, but we refused and walked out. Never again! Don't waste your time going there for lunch. We went to Pineapple Pete's for lunch and had a great experience there.

John C — Google review

First time here since they moved and the food and view were exceptional. Staff was very friendly, service was great, and food was outstanding. The crab stuffed Mahi Mahi 🐟 was delicious. My wife got the hanging filet mignon kabob which didn't disappoint. On the way out the girls tasted and picked up some gelato. 👍🏼

Brandon B — Google review

My filet was just okay, but the restaurant’s ambiance and scenery was amazing. They offer live dinner shows some nights (must make a dinner reservation) and have a variety of drinks made with rhum made in their distillery. Staff was great and very welcoming.

Ell T — Google review

Carol and Dexter provided great service. The food was wonderful! Lobster and bone-in prime rib was tender and juicy! House specialty rum cake or pecan pie for dessert! And don't forget about the rum! So many flavors...

Mark D — Google review

If visiting and in the area, this is somewhere I wouldn’t miss visiting, rum distillery, gelato ice cream, and an amazing restaurant. They have one of the best burgers I’ve ever tasted, it’s also voted Sint martens best burger, it’s all that and then some. Price wise, it honestly should be priced higher especially if you compare it to the American big burger chains which are more money. The staff were extremely helpful, and looked happy to be there. They were very knowledgeable about the rum distillery and helpful. The restaurant staff were really friendly, telling us about past huricanes and the history of the restaurant. Will definitely return before our vacation is over and we are glad we found this gem at the start

Bar & grill

Nowhere Special is a popular bar and restaurant in Simpson Bay, with a menu that includes Caribbean seafood dishes as well as international favourites. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, with outdoor seating available. The bar serves drinks, while the eatery has table service and reservations can be made. There's also free wifi access.

One of the best places you can eat on the Island. Definitely the best appetizers we had, we ordered a second round of everything. The food was so good we asked to meet the chef. The staff was very friendly, they made extra effort to make sure we had an amazing experience. At Night, the live band is definitely a must see, the environment is great, just really good vibes overall. You can't go to Sint Maarten and not stop here.

Olan A — Google review

This is such a vibe! This bar is everything the bartenders are extremely nice, the live music is amazing the drinks are strong. It gives a down home feeling comfortable. I'll definitely be visiting again. No where special, is somewhere special.

Israel C — Google review

Yacht club view with incredible breeze off the bay. Absolutely 5 star stellar food and co*cktails. Apps and drinks were half price at happy hour. High quality sauces and spices. Our favorites were codfish fritters, chicken satay, plantains, spinach artichoke fondue, sesame tuna, mashed potatoes, and ribs to rival anywhere on the island.

Erin B — Google review

One of the best places to go out in Sint Maarten with Live Music 6 days a week, great co*cktails, finger-foods and always a superb atmosphere 🎶At this place everyone gets together and just has Caribbean fun!

We S — Google review

My group and I had so much fun on our last night here. On a Sunday night was when they were hopping. The live band was soooo good, we had a great time dancing and enjoying those caribbean vibes.

D H — Google review

It says on google it opens at 4 but it is open for lunch! Nice ambiance and view, good service, delicious food, cool vibe! Definitely recommend! Tuna burger, codfish accras, burger, oxtail spring rolls were all delicious!

J D — Google review

This place has a great party vibe. On Sunday there was a (very loud) live band which, amongst other hits, played my favorite steal drum rendition of Happy Birthday. We came here to try some local food and were quite satisfied in that regard. Conch Fritters were top notch! The Salt Fish Johnny Cakes were OK, and the Curry Goat Triangles just sad. The Philipsburger was very good even by American standards. Great service too. Definitly recommend.P. S. For great Johnny Cakes Hop over to Captain's Rib Shack down the street.

Yegor M — Google review

In SXM for a week, this is the only place I've come to multiple times. The atmosphere is laid-back and casual, bar staff is fun and personable. The food menu is creative, and it's probably the best food I've had on the island. I wanted to see as many restaurants/bars as I could while I'm here and this place really stands out as something different and special. If you want to have a drink and get a snack, come here. Will definitely be back here next time I visit, would recommend to anyone visiting (if you're on the French side it's worth the drive)

Myles M — Google review

We went here for dinner and the live music. The food was yummy, basic offerings, small menu. Our waitress was wonderful and the co*cktails were great. That night the band was a carribbean fusion band. Never heard that before. They had a steel drum that played along with a drummer and keyboard to recorded music. Kinda odd but also different and interesting. Lots of locals but also lots of tourists as well. They have different types of live music every night. It's open air so the setting was nice.

Denise M — Google review

Friendly location for some music and drinks in SXM nights.Good atmosphere, good vibes.Recommended 👍

Marco G — Google review

Per a friend's suggestion I came here to eat and have a drink. Service was very good. I had the oxtail rolls and they were just ok. After that I came back later for the live band and had a great night. I would definitely recommend if you enjoy a relaxed fun atmosphere.

Kimberly A — Google review

The food was excellent. We enjoyed the wings with the Nowhere Special sauce, the giant coconut shrimp, the grilled octopus, and the sesame tuna. Everything was delicious! The place may be loud out front, where it looks more like a bar, but the dining area is in the back where it's quiet, and you can see the mega yachts in the harbor. Service was friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!

Todor T — Google review

Very good place to eat, nice atmosphere right on the water with probably the best food I had while on the island. Customer service was pretty good, but could have been a bit more attentive. Overall great experience, great food!

Vic W — Google review

If you dont go to Nowhere Special, you cannot say you visited St Maarten (Dutch side at least). The Dj was the best, service was incredible. My 7 yo daughter danced a lottt!!! We enjoyed; Nowhere special was very special 😜.

Paola V — Google review

Great food, drinks, music and atmosphere! First time visiting here and loved the live music. The oxtail rolls and sliders were our favorites. Junior was awesome! Will definitely be back

Sade — Google review

I went for the first time and it was amazing! I had the oxtail spring rolls and the curry spinach chicken dish and it was so fulfilling and warm. My server was Junior, and he made sure my mother and I were satisfied. Even going beyond to get me a hot cup of water and ginger due to my stomach being upset prior to eating. The ambiance is great as well. The live music was a vibe, perfect for the night. I would definitely go again and recommend it to my friends traveling to Saint Maarten!

Shedd S — Google review

Good Atmosphere, great service and music !Well we went back a second day , 4-7 happy hour it says clearly , they welcomed us with a welcome to happy hour we ordered a few drinks and then completely denied they have a happy hour , sadly will not return.

Jamal K — Google review

We had a wonderful time. The food, service music was an entire vibe. Must go. Love vacationing on the Island.

Piano bar

The Red Piano SXM is a popular nightlife spot in St. Maarten known for its lively atmosphere and great music. This bar offers a vibrant scene with live music, including performances by local bands and piano players. The bartenders are highly praised for their skills and are known for making excellent drinks like Espresso Martinis. The venue is particularly famous for hosting What The Funk, a local band that performs on Mondays, while other nights feature different talented musicians.

Church on Monday!!! What a great band. Get their early if you want a seat, else it's standing room only. No food is served only drinks. $20 minimum. So much fun!!

Aimee B — Google review

Went here solely for a drink and some pool. Unfortunately the table was in pretty bad shape due to a stain from a customer dropping beer on it. The balls were in bad need of a changing out or at least a cleaning. The sticks were barely usable either. The service behind the bar was good though so there was at least that.

Brian P — Google review

Great staff, entertainment, and service! Love this place! Go see Cliff & Susan in November 🎹🎹🎹

Cara E — Google review

Good times are easy to find at “Church on Monday” with the band “Get the Funk Out” providing energized entertainment; and the friendly bartenders & wait staff will keep your cups full of good drinks as much as you desire.

B.D. O — Google review

Amazing spot! Great drinks and entertainment, lively every night. Order the Apple martini or BBC :)

Victoria R — Google review

Live band on Mondays. Rock, Reggae, Pop music, Disc Jockey. A little crowded but very safe environment. Friendly patrons, very dedicated staff. Highly recommended.

Dulcilio M — Google review

We went to the Church on Mondays show. It was Fantastic! The band was so great we danced the night away. We got there around 9 and there was a decent amount of people, just a few seats left, but there aren't that many to begin with. By 10 it was packed, standing room only. Super high energy in there. Our waitress did her best but she was super busy. There's no food here, so be prepared and the co*cktail menu had lots to offer. I don't know how it is on regular piano nights but I can definitely recommend Church Mondays for the best live music band and dancing.

Denise M — Google review

The worst service I have received on any Caribbean island. I came for a spot of lunch today, and was told there was no tables. A local couple behind me asked if there were any tables for lunch without reservations to which the waitress said yes. I asked her why she said no to me and yes to them despite neither of us having reservations and she just shrugged her shoulders and walked off. Her attitude was disgusting, not to mention the blatant racism. I tried to complain to the manager about her attitude, only for him to side with her and tell me she didn’t have attitude. I said I was going to leave and he shouted we don’t take princesses anyway you and your dog can get out, in front of all the customers.I am a young female travelling the island alone and was taken aback at the disgusting attitude and racism I had experienced not only from the junior but also from the manager. They continued to shout at me as I walked out of the restaurant whilst laughing. The owner should address this ASAP. In a reputable area staff should not be employed who are in favour of treating paying customers with such derogatory disrespect and racism. I would not recommend this place to anybody on the island. Avoid!!

Rosie T — Google review

One of my favorite nightlife locations in SXM. This place just creates such an awesome vibe. The bartenders are always on top and make the best Espresso martini. The Red Piano has What The Funk (a local live band) playing on Mondays. All other nights of the week they have live piano players with a different musician on a monthly basis. We were there when Cliff and Susan were playing every November and they put the place upside down, see the videos ;)Each musician has its own style so check who’s playing in the month your visiting and enjoy a memorable night out. Ooh this place is fun for all ages!

We S — Google review

It was off-season, so it wasn't crowded, and the piano player was great. We had a great time rocking out to a wide variety of tunes, including Robin Williams, You've never had a friend like me to Styx come sail away and many in between.

Jeff W — Google review

Nice bar with friendly bartenders. Drinks were great and service was excellent. Friendly crowd and very comfortable atmosphere. Piano player needed a few more voice lessons but played a good guitar and Piano. He bored me but the co*cktails made him tolerable.

Paul P — Google review

The Red Piano has something for everyone. We went for Church on Monday based on the reviews and had a blast listening to What The Funk. We thought the live music would keep going, but it switched to a DJ later in the night. Be sure to get there early Monday if you want a seat!We went back on Wednesday evening for what we had hoped for Monday - live music all night, this time with Adam Heart. The drink list also has something for everyone (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), but the espresso martini was my favorite.

Emily W — Google review

Great bar, always fun, however local clowns are aggressively enforcing parking. Never go if you are driving a car, it's a joke now with parking enforcement. Great bar ruined by the local greed as usual.

Derek A — Google review

Nice old school piano bar. Player, when he finally came in, was great. Could play almost anything.Parking is bad to say the least.Pictures on way to restrooms are great!

3 Amigos is a fun, casual Mexican restaurant that offers great food and drinks at a great price.

Went for dinner and drinks. Had the nachos which were amazing and huge! Guacamole slaps! Had a few frozen strawberry margaritas, bartender did an awesome job and was friendly. Good vibes, fast service, reasonably priced.

Quick service. Quality steak and peppers burrito, meat was juicy and tender with the right amount of flavor. Really hit the spot! Try the hot sauce!

John N — Google review

I’ve tried this place one night and really had to go back again. Great food. Great service. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Mexican food is one of my favorite choices. Who know perhaps I will dine there again.I noticed people complaining about double gratuity. Sadly in many tourist places that’s one of the practices of the owners. Sadly, this money never or most of the time does not go toward the gratuity of the servers/workers. We can choose not to leave the tip but is it really fair? At the same time in the States we pay tax and leave 20% gratuity and never complain. Come on, it is your vacation. Let the workers be compensated for their really hard work.

PeteF — Google review

Great experience overall! Great casual bar atmosphere and cool decor. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive. Food was very good! We had taquitos and beef enchiladas and finished dinner with a delicious banana chimichanga 🍌

Kevin Z — Google review

Really had a bad experience here from start to finishStarted with when we were seated our server asked if she could get us chips and salsa (something I’m used to being normal) which I said sure - only to find out it was the $10 app. I chalked this up to my mistake and moved onWe ordered 2 margaritas and they were terrible, not sure how to describe it but definitely weren’t standard tequila, lime and triple secThe food was meh, I ordered the shredded chicken burrito which was very dry. My wife ordered the fish tacos which were mostly batterWhen it came time to pay the bill, I went to pay with CC, and planned to leave a cash tip like I usually would do. The server told us we “had to” select a percentage when using a card - so I just said 5, figuring I’d make the rest up in cash. After the server walked away I see she put it in as 15%Overall my wife and I felt very scammed, it seemed like the server we had knew exactly what she was doing and didn’t care.Really recommend you eat anywhere but here

Chris H — Google review

Fun jam! Drinks and service were great !

Christopher B — Google review

Good service but food was meh. Same rice veggies and beans in tacos, bowls and burritos so everything besides the protein tastes the same. Good for quick bite

Komal P — Google review

A fun place with good food and drinks. We had a snack and a couple of Margaritas here. Tasty black beans and rice, the tacos as well muy rico!Service was fast and friendly, thanks!Portions and prices fair for area.

Sven O — Google review

Hits the spot! Absolutely satisfying! Great vibe, super casual, friendly staff, reasonably priced and great portion sizes. Had the pulled pork burrito - fantastic. The rice bowl in a flakey tortilla bowl is delicious too.

Chandrew R — Google review

The nachos are incredible, just look! Chicken wings are great. The service was friendly and made our lunch a pleasant break in our day

Jason F — Google review

We had dinner. The mushroom chicken was good. The wings were too salty. When the bill arrived I noticed that the gratuity was already included so I didn’t know that I had to tip a second time. The server said that the included gratuity was for the restaurant so I ended up tipping him. We had eaten at another place and I didn’t notice that. Gouging the tourists.

Hirdainath D — Google review

Such a nice place and a great discover ! I had a little crunchy taco and it was really good for only 2$ (it was an offer) . My friends had burritos and I had beef fajitas. The portions are really generous and the quality of the food is excellent ! The waitress was nice and professional ! I highly recommend !

Elisa — Google review

Good restaurant right across the air B&B we were staying at. Tacos were fantastic. Go on taco Tuesday for a good deal. I also had the chicken fajitas which were delicious, but a little pricey. Also. You’ll pay more for a bottle of water than you will for a bottle of Modello.

GRB201110119 — Google review

Scam Alert ‼️Pitcher of spicy 🌶️ margaritas on the menu says 47$ so we ordered one , get the bill says 50$ plus an additional 5$ for spicy , so we question it the lady bar tender say my computer says 50 plus an additional charge for premium tequila which we never asked for , gratuity is added on the bill but still asked to add a further tip ,ordered tacos added an additional $5 for guacamole 🥑, be very careful at this joint and don’t be shy to call out their scamy billing , will of course not recommend or return!

Jamal K — Google review

The most giant nachos I’ve ever seen. $3 margaritas and beer at happy hour. Service was great.

Steven G — Google review

Tacos were good, but when the bill came I noticed 15% gratuity was already included. Not really an issue since I usually tip 20%. But when I asked about it, the server insisted it was a tax and asked how much I wanted to tip. I didn't want to argue about it, so I left $10. After a little research, it's clear that this employee was scamming us for a double tip. This is theft! Shame on you. And from looking at some of the other reviews it seems like this was not an isolated incident.

Sean G — Google review

Food was good. Place was busy and food took a while. Problem was like most places in SXM 15% gratuity was added which is a tip which is fine but the waitress said they only get a small portion of the gratuity about 1%. If that’s true & the restaurant is keeping the gratuity fees for themselves then SHAME ON YOU 3 AMIGOS!! Or was the waitress lying to get more money?

Palapa Grill and Lounge is a chic restaurant with a beautiful setting that we enjoyed celebrating our 2nd Christmas here. The best grill steak on the island and heavenly foie gras are on the menu, making it perfect for a delicious dinner. They also have a live DJ when we visited on Saturday night, which added to the fun. The food service took a long time without any explanation, making us wait quite awhile for our food.

The restaurant was absolutely beautiful. Felt like we were in the jungle. They had super fun Caribbean music playing all night and everyone had an amazing time. Great vibes! Highly recommend the coconut shrimp!

Me and my wife LOVED this restaurant! They have an amazing atmosphere and vibe with really good music playing. The waitress we had was very nice and fast! All the staff was wonderful! The co*cktails were some of the best we had on the island! The food was also absolutely delicious! I had the lobster pasta and the portions were perfect! Lots of lobster and the sauce was so good! Even the dessert was very good! Do your self a favor and GO HERE!

We made reservations in advance for our group of 12, but our flight got delayed. We messaged them on WhatsApp and was able to change the time with no issues.Ambiance- The restaurant is absolutely beautiful! It was very tropical with a nice breeze. Our table was beautifully decorated.Service- The service was pretty good. Our server seemed to have confused herself a few times, but made it seem like it was us. She asked us if we wanted 4 orders of fritters about 5 times. We said yes, but then she brought out 3 and told our table that we told her no to the 4 fritters, which she was wrong about.Food- The food was SO GOOD! I mean, A+. The calamari, the fritters, the pasta....everything was amazing.Because we were celebrating a few of our birthdays, they brought us out some shots with sparklers. The shots were gross, but FREE, so we didn't complain.I definitely recommend!

I can't talk much about the food. Because they didn't have much that I really like. So I would say a limited menu here is why I held back 2 stars. But the creme Brule was nice I just wish it wasn't so thin. Drinks were great and the decor is really nice.

High class and top quality at its finest. From the moment you enter and the Hostess greets you it is an exquisite experience. The ambiance is delightful, staff is abundant and never leave a need waiting. The food is absolutely decadent. We both couldn't resist ordering the hanger steak. It was juicy, packed with delicious flavor and melted in your mouth. Everything was cooked to perfection, including the chef's recommended dessert!!Their lounge/bar area was relaxing and entertaining as we enjoyed the bar tender's fancy moves and kicked back on a comfy couch enjoying our co*cktail.Highly recommend!!!

Our dinner experience at Palapa Grill and Lounge last night was next level fantastic!!We arrived off our sailboat via dinghy, it is right on the Laguna and accessible both by water or land. The restaurant has just been renovated and re-launched by talented architect-owner Barbara, who we had the pleasure of meeting.Ambience - an amazing cross between an Arabian Nights oasis and Alice in Wonderland, with comfy lounges, soft lighting, and unique decorations… check out the gold panther by the bathrooms. The pool with bridge is a perfect Instagram photo spot, while the the porthole window at the main bar beautifully frames the Laguna lights.Drinks - the co*cktails are amazing, and the presentation is an experience in itself!! I tried the Jack Sparrow, rum based with cinnamon and a dried orange garnish which was lit on fire to provide a smoky flavor.Food - everything we tried was amazing… From appetizers (sushi & lobster cakes) to steak with chimichurri and sea bass. I had the off-menu special, a delicately fried triggerfish with almond encrusted coating.. a gourmet twist on fish and chips. We got to meet the talented chef Shane who recently spent time cooking in New York and brings a fresh flavor take to classic dishes.Service - from front reception to the general manager to the bartenders to our server - everyone was off the charts friendly and helpful. Every detail was considered, including little chairs for your purse/bag and little ice buckets to keep your wine bottle or water chilled. After dinner, we had the opportunity to have conversations with the General Manager and chef, who had fascinating backgrounds and life stories. In a nutshell, don’t miss this unique gem - a perfect combo of French-level gourmet cooking with the internationally glamorous yacht vibe on the Dutch side …🤩

First time visiting Palapa and won't be the last. We were greeted by the beautiful hostess, Chris, and we immediately felt right at home. Our server, Jeandralica (also stunning) was exceptional. She made sure our meals were prepared properly and kept the co*cktails flowing. The rest of the wait staff did a fantastic job too.Steak was cooked to perfection and the sea bass was delicious. Try the foiegras, it was wonderful. Prices were reasonable for the quality and the atmosphere was beautiful. Can't wait to be back again!Back again and it was even better. We were lucky to see the manager Chris again who is probably one of the best on the island. She's a beautiful person with warm personality. Our server was also incredible and made sure everything was prepared to our satisfaction. We brought some friends this time and they have now placed it on their list of favorites. Thanks for the exceptional meal and the hospitality.

Vibes are great here! They had a live DJ when we went on Saturday night. We didn't have a reservation so it took a while to get seated but we were able to wait near the bar and get drinks. The food service took a really long time with no explanation as to why. Which was frustrating after our group had been there for 2-3 hours.Overall, the food was amazingly tasty. I got the lobster pasta.

Highly recommend!!! Everything we ordered from the appetizer to desert was delicious!!! A few things on the menu were unavailable, but we were told right away so there were no surprises. You can absolutely tell they value quality over quantity. Such a unique place and it’s so beautiful. Staff was so friendly and helpful. This place is a must!!

Great vibes, Friendly staff , good food. This place was so cute on the inside , they had live music and were so nice :). They have a msg to their customers on their menu which I thought was beautiful and made me appreciate the space even more, on how they rebuilt after Hurricane Irma. The lobster cake was delicious and so was the hanger steak !! Oh and so was the dessert. A must try !!

Over the years we had seen this place and read the reviews before we came down in October. We decided to give it a try so went early for dinner. We were asked if we had reservations, we said no and the guy walked away . . . took a bit for him to come back and we walked in, and the place was empty except for one table. We were seated, ordered drinks, my wifes was correct, mine was up when I asked for rocks. Minor error but not hopefully not portending something later. As we were waiting to order we noticed several staff members and what appeared to be the owner futzing with a large table, moving decorations around, changing the arrangement . . . and it went on and on and on. Finally I snagged the waiter/Maître d' and we placed our order, it came fairly quickly so we ordered our main when the "warm" sushi roll arrived. It was okay but warm is not what you expect from sushi. My wife had a view right into the 'window' of the kitchen, the place where finished plates placed while waiting for staff to take them to the table. She said it looked like my dinner was up . . . and then nothing. The kitchen appeared to be fully staffed but for some reason my wife's dish was not forthcoming. Finally about 15 to 20 minutes after my meal was sitting there it was brought to the table.I ordered a Seafood Bowl with shellfish and , looked fabulous on the menu but when it arrived you could see it had been sitting, waiting for quite a bit. I tried the lobster . . . it was rubbery. I tried the scallops, they were essentially too tough to eat, same with the shrimp. The meal was uneatable. I could not find our waiter to get some service when I saw the woman who earlier appeared to be the owner. My wife said her dish was okay, pasta and clams. I asked the owner what was up, that my meal was way over cooked. She apologized and ordered a fresh dish for me. Again it came out right away, was not rubber, again owner apologizes however my wife finished her meal 30 minutes ago. I had kind of thought that they would have comped my meal but alas full price.People arrived for the empty table and you would have thought they were royalty with the service and the rest of us are sitting over here wondering what is going on.Just an FYI, we had to leave the villa we were in because of a leaky roof, the company that rented it to us refunded the full price. Perhaps the owner of Palapa could learn from that lady on how to correct a service issue.Perhaps it was an off night, perhaps this or perhaps that, regardless I won't go back, nor would I recommend it. You have once chance to make an impression with a customer, if that is a good one or not is up to you.

Guy A — Google review

We went for drinks twice and loved it. Palapa may have the coolest interior of any restaurant I've seen, and I think it was all built by the owners. Sadly we didn't have a chance to eat here, and I'm really sorry we didn't make it to one of the club nights - I bet these are really fun.

Reservations: highly recommended but be aware lounge has limited menu. Choose Garden or Other.Other is the Bedouin tent and is the non smoking sectionParty of 3 2x adult 1 childSint Maarten is full of high quality restaurants but this has to be a top pick. The decor is absolutely stunning and this says a lot considering we are in a Caribbean island and it feels like you stepped into an oasis of tropical paradise. From the moment you arrive you are greeted with warmth.Food:5 stars ⭐️Honestly, I wish I could’ve ordered much more that I did but my stomach could not allow. The food here is served at the proper temperatures to ensure maximum pleasure.Appetizers: sashimi platter and lobster cakesEntrée:The cavalry platter was shared amongst two adults and one child. One rib steakOne flank andone tenderloinIt comes with two sides, ( we ordered truffled potatoes and fries) vegetables and two sauces. The sauces are so interesting we had to add an extra sauce. 1.peppercorn whiskey 2. Champagne Truffle 3. pomegranate ChimichurriThe sides were so delicious and flavoured with grace.Drinks 5 ⭐️-if I could give more stars I wouldI read reviews that the drinks were fantastic here so perfect for a night out at the lounge area or later at night when this turns into what I call a “mingle of the singles or etc.” atmosphere is super sexy yet classy! My drink “LET me LOVE you” I think that’s what it was called as it was suggested by our servers was exceptionally balanced and my child’s nonalcoholic drink “PINK”was as well. I was so fond of my drink during dinner that for dessert I ordered the trio of alcoholic sips and was IN HEAVEN But was pleasantly surprised when I huge sparkle cake a ride to the table with fire crackers like sparklers. I wish I was able to capture the moment on video but honestly the moment will forever live in my memories.Make sure you leave room for dessert as they are the perfect way to end the meal. You will not regret it!Service 5 ⭐️This is all around the best! They work like a family and help each other out when needed so you feel valued and never need to look for anything. I watched the kitchen in sync and the servers in harmony with bus staff. Apparently this was their first day without their head chef and (April 1st) and they still were in unison.I am Already dreaming of when I will return. Do not hesitate to make a reservation.Just make sure it’s not lounge so you get the full food menu available!

I was so excited to go to palapa based on the reviews and beautiful photos in previous posts! However, my experience was very different.Overall beautiful location, very limited parking. Ensure you have a reservation. Lounge area has very limited menu. Sushi chef was not available when we were there, causing us to only have the option of 3 items in the lounge (tapas). This was not previously disclosed to us by the hostess when we arrived and were offered the lounge area.We had a reservation for 2, and asked to change to 3, which was not allowed. While I understand the circ*mstances, this was horrible handled. Communication from the hostess was poor, our third party ended up leaving. While the venue is beautiful, our table was located at the back of the restaurant which appeared to be at the end of the tent in the back. The table was shaky, and no decor as we have seen in other posts. After asking to relocate, they moved us.In main dining service was good, however we waited some time before being approached. We had to request a waiter.Drinks were good, great mocktail options. Food was delicious. Decor of main area and lounges are beautiful.Based on my experiences at this location, I would not return. There are plenty of other options in SXM that far surpass this venue.

Such a cute hidden gem downtown! The atmosphere and decorations were stunning throughout the restaurant. It definitely felt like a hidden oasis! The co*cktails were AMAZING. Some of the most unique and favorable co*cktails on the island. We ordered multiple rounds of co*cktails, including the dessert ones. Definitely recommend the Paradise co*cktail. Furthermore, the food was excellent. Every meal was presented beautifully and filled with flavor. I ordered the octopus which was AMAZING, definitely recommend! Our waitress put in our groups appetizer wrong but was apologetic and the correct appetizer came out quickly after she realized her mistake.

The Boon Beach Bar & Restaurant is a hidden gem on Simpson Bay Beach that offers delicious Caribbean food, fresh co*cktails, and music right on beautiful Simpson Bay Beach. Removed from the usual crowds, you can relax in one of their beach chairs while admiring the passing sailboats.

Food was great. Location great. Only downside was one of the male servers was so chatty and opinionated that it bordered on rude. He wouldn't leave us in peace. Our group came to the beach to relax, not have a debate on social issues......hoping next time we're not in his section

Our first night after a long flight, we walked here and were seated in the restaurant. I had the veggie pasta and my husband had caribbean lobster. Both meals were good and our server that night was absolutely lovely.Another night, we walked over for a quick, casual bite in the bar area as they had a private event in the dining room. We had a different server. She was young, only there for 2 days, and was still learning the menu items, etc but was very friendly. Until the end. We paid with a credit card and she said "what about adding a tip". I pointed out that a tip is already on the bill. In fact on $61, $9 was added and it is identified as "gratuity". Her smile was gone as she said "that is a service charge". I had to involve our server from the previous visit who was also at the counter and she told the young lady it is a tip.Now I did give the other server a small additional cash tip. I did this for the young lady as well. Because I am giving her the benefit of the doubt. But we are reluctant to return if we are to have to deal with this type of thing again. I suggest management clarify for their new hires what gratuity means.

Christine K — Google review

Awful. Just run. Ordered bruschetta appetizer and got bread with pizza sauce spread on it. Showed them a pic of what it's supposed to look like. Gave us $4 off a $12 charge for 3 slices of bread with sauce. Dogs and cats sitting at you table begging for food. 18% built in gratuity. Grilled chicken dinner like leather. So expensive. Just run away. Go to The Palms for dinner. You will love it...

X-Lounge, situated in Simpson Bay, Sint Maarten, is a nightclub and bar famous for its distinctive ambiance, amiable staff, and popularity among both locals and tourists visiting St. Maarten. The establishment warmly welcomes each guest with the characteristic hospitality of St. Martin. Reviews from various sources consistently praise X-Lounge's exceptional qualities.

Friendly, quaint sports bar with large screen TV. We messaged them in advance to inquire about watching the women’s final four at their bar. They had it on when we arrived and the drinks we had were excellent! Our bartender was so attentive. Laid back atmosphere with comfortable seating. It is a smoking bar.

Excellent venue whether you’re there to enjoy an intimate setting with a friend for a few craft co*cktails, or with a larger group to watch a game on the big screen. XLounge has it all!! Inside and outside seating, exceptional service, and a stacked hookah selection. The music is always on point, and if you’re hungry there’s food delivery service available from restaurants in the area. The total package deal, this bar is a bit tucked away, but 1000% a hidden gem, and a staple of your St. Maarten night-life!! Don’t miss out, we will definitely be back!! Cheers🥂

All of the 5 star reviews before mine are 900% accurate. My friends and I were in SXM for a week and decided to visit X lounge to buy a few things and watch a game. Vic, the owner, got us squared away. He’s down to earth, personable, and has a great spot here. Conversations, vibes, and service were perfect. Good spot to wind down after a fun day.

I was so pleased to have came to this place while on vacation. Everyone was so friendly and we had a great time 🙂❤️

Guava C — Google review

The response from the owner is false. We were not drunk. We didn't have a drop of alcohol. Instead of responding with lies, just accept the review and improve. Based on other reviews, it seems it was just and off moment, but your lying tells a lot about the kind of reviews that are accepted. We visited the Xlounge guided by the great reviews in google, but got the disappointment of our one-week trip to Sint Maarten. We arrived and nobody was there. When a guy appeared, he was less than cordial, didn’t even offer a ‘hello’ nor a menu. We left immediately (he probably didn’t even care). Total let down. So we came to the Buccaneer beach bar instead.

Replay Sports Pub offers both indoor and outdoor seating options. While the indoor area features a few tables and large displays, some of which had minor technical issues, the air conditioning was not very effective, leading to condensation dripping from the ceiling. However, the outside venue is highly enjoyable. The food served here is of good quality, and the service provided is pleasant, although there may be a slight delay in receiving orders.

Great food! Big menu for every age! We brought in 30 youth soccer players and the service an food was impeccable! Highly recommended! We would go five more times but we leave tomorrow. Enjoyed all the food and atmosphere!

Food is pretty terrible: soggy onion rings, dry chicken wings, super-artificial-tasting chocolate cake, nachos made with a weird pita chip rather than tortilla chips. The best item was the pizza. But the staff were lovely and attentive. Only 4 beer choices, which seems strange for a sports bar.

MG P — Google review

After spending all day in airports, on planes, or in customs lines, we were a bit hungry, but it was too early for dinner, so we stopped in to Replay for a quick bite. They had a wing special going on, 60¢ per wing. The buffalo wings were well sauced and had just enough heat...not too spicy, but not mild. The pub wasn’t busy at all (we were the only customers inside, and maybe one or two more outside), so the service was very good.

I must say everything about Replay was amazing. The food , the service and the atmosphere. Thank you Naomi for the great service and for making us feel at home and keep showing that beautiful smile. We definitely will be coming back.

I dined at replay twice while staying on the island. The food was good & service was okay. I do agree with another review about the wait time for food it did take close to 35 mins to receive our food. Which was fine as it was delicious once received. It’s bar food but didn’t taste like it.

Naomi was very polite and respectful to our individual needs. Spent time at each table to get our requests accurate and timely! Will definitely be returning to this destination!

Sit outside if you can. Inside has a few tables and some large displays (which were a bit glitchy) but the air conditioning was not great. Condensation dripped from the ceiling. Might’ve been an issue for just that night. Outside venue very nice, though. We ate twice here, the first time outside. Food is good. Service is nice, though food does take a bit to arrive. Got nice water the first night, but got Dasani the second time. Overall the first time was good enough for us to come back!

I love SanjayShe was amazing... All my love to her..She was so good with the kids, and she took care of us very well even though she was overwhelmed with orders at the time, and she was very friendly and kind. She was perfect with amazing service!

Excellent time. Able to get ANY game you need. Yes. ANY game. Food was classic bar food which was very good. Oscar and his staff took very good care of us and were very welcoming the moment we walked in. Will definitely return on this trip and future trips! Thanks Oscar!

Chandra m. was our server at replay and was wonderful. Food was great! Ribs were better than the famous spot down the road everyone raved about.
