“Reporting to Officer Summerton, we are just following protocol.”
The two men spoke without displaying any emotions.
Ashton turned around and said to Emmanuel, “I’ll go inside and take a look. You guys wait here.”
Emmanuel nodded. He used to dislike Ashton when they were enemies, but now that they were on the same side, she might turn out to be quite reliable!
Ashton quickly walked inside with long strides.
Although she still didn’t like Mackenzie, her feelings toward Emmanuel had changed from disgust to admiration, especially after he helped her break through her internal strength. She was grateful to him, and she would definitely help him with his matters!

“It’s Officer Summerton for you!”
Ashton was very dissatisfied with him addressing her that way, and she put on a proud face, even though this man was a distant relative of the Summerton family.
“Reporting to Miss- I mean, Officer Summerton, this is Madam Althea’s decision!” Toby said softly.
“My mother?” Ashton was surprised. “Why would she do this?”
As far as Ashton could recall, the Summerton family should have no grudges against the Quillen family. Her brother, Julian, even went to Yeringham to pursue Roselynn Because of that, the Summerton family and the Quillen family had even collaborated on some small projects.
But now, Mom actually wants to deal with people from the Quillen family?

“Officer Summerton, I don’t have the answer to that,” Toby said, sounding unsure. But then he whispered, “Maybe it’s related to the Tanner family of Onza?”
Ashton thought his speculation made sense. Although the Quillen family is the richest in Yeringham and holds great power there, they are no match for the Tanner family of Onza, which has the support of the Tanner family of Zovince.
“Alright, I get it. Now let them go!”
Ashton didn’t want to waste any more time and immediately gave the order.

Emmanuel casually smiled and followed Mackenzie and the others as they left.
