Celebrating my work anniversary. Feeling thankful for this #workmilestone Today officially marks my 3rd anniversary working for HSBC…Looking back, I sit here and laugh at how nervous I was. Going straight from sixth form without any idea of how to get to Canary Wharf, let alone in rush hour, was a massive step for me. I remember how excited I was to get my photo on my pass (which I have now learned to hate), my own laptop and to meet all of my colleagues. In my first week, I completed what felt like 100 mandatory learnings and even went up to Birmingham for the first time. Though I must admit, when I started I did not think that 8 months later I would have been one of the three people who went into the office on my team during lockdown! #businesscontinuity #pandemicrecovery The last year has definitely been my favourite so far. I was offered a secondment in an Account Manager role at the end of the pandemic and then moved into a permanent position after having 2 interviews. I now have my own portfolio of Large Corporate Clients and I have never been so confident in my life! I have built up relationships with my old clients and now I am doing this with my new ones after only being in the role permanently for around 3 months. I am really enjoying my time at HSBC and the support I receive to progress my career further. Just from the last 3 years I have had so many opportunities whether it is a secondment, permanent role or even projects I have been involved in. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of my journey so far- whether it was one conversation or someone on my team, you are truly appreciated. After 1 year of being on a secondment, I’m happy to share that I have secured a permanent position as an Account Manager at HSBC!Thank you to everyone who has helped me over the last year gain enough knowledge to take on my very own portfolio of clients. I cannot wait to get started!

and that’s it. My second week in my Account Manager secondment is complete. There have been some challenges already but all the support from my colleagues has really helped. I have gained so much knowledge in 2 weeks, from payment queries to learning how to explain yourself to clients. I never thought I would be lucky enough to be looking after a portfolio of clients in my (almost) 2nd year of working for HSBC. I cannot wait to see what else this role brings over the next few months! #learning #opportunities #secondment

So delighted to have been nominated for a spotlight award as a New Joiner and my contributions to helping clients in CMB during COVID-19 in the office. What a start to my hopefully very long career working for HSBC. I couldn’t be prouder of my workplace. I have completed one whole year which has flown by and it has been the best year of my life.
