Everything We Saw At Summer Game Fest 2024 (2024)

Today, we got nearly two hours of new trailers for upcoming games courtesy of Geoff Keighley and his annual Summer Game Fest showcase. It was a lot to sit through, but if you missed out on the live stream or just want a recap of everything shown off today, we’ve got you covered.

Lego Horizon Adventures

In a mashup that seems too perfect, Horizon and Lego are coming together to let us smash up digital plastic bricks across a post-apocalyptic world. With an isometric perspective, it gave us a nice look at a wide variety of environments. The game also seems like it’ll have a base-building mechanic as well.

Lego Horizon Adventures is expected in winter 2024 for PS5, PC, and even Switch. Betcha didn’t expect that!

No More Room In Hell 2

Hey, they told you the first time there wouldn’t be any room in hell, but I guess you didn’t quite get the message because now there’s a sequel to once again show you that there is no room in hell. With moody, spooky first-person action through dark, dangerous environments, No More Room In Hell 2 promises cooperative struggles against zombie hordes. No More Room In Hell 2 ships via Early Access in October 2024.

Harry Potter Quidditch Champions

Well, if you’re still into Harry Potter for some reason, there’s a quidditch game on the way. There you go. It launches on September 3rd on PS5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC.

Cuffbust

If you’re looking for some cooperative prison break action as, um, koalas? Well, koala-like creatures who are up to absolute no good with their mischief, including throwing explosives in toilets, maybe keep an eye on this one. Cuffbust is expected to release in 2025.

Star Wars Outlaws

It’s hard not to get excited about Star Wars Outlaws, and today’s new trailer makes that even harder. With a wide variety of environments, it looks set to deliver some incredible interactive Star Wars action. There’ll be a new gameplay reveal during Ubisoft Forward 2024 on Monday.

Neva

If you loved Gris and its beautiful, delicate environments and sweet music, Alba is an essential game to keep an eye on. With gorgeous colors, an adorably cute deer/fox pup alongside your character, and some sword-swinging combat, I know I’m excited for this one.

Civilization VII

With an impressive cinematic trailer set across various civilizations and historical periods, Civilization 7 is set to bring back the wildly successful turn-based strategy series in 2025 on both consoles and PC.

Black Myth: Wukong

Featuring epic fights and an elegant fantasy world in its cinematic trailer, Black Myth: Wukong is set to finally arrive on August 20, 2024.

Once Human

Starry Studio’s vision of a post-apocalyptic fantasy world features a wide variety of environments and deadly enemies of all kinds. Once Human arrives on July 9.

Metaphor

From the talent that brought us Persona 3, 4, and 5, Metaphor promises 40 different heroic combat archetypes to harness against your foes in an upgradable job system that lets you amass more power over the course of the game. Metaphor arrives on October 11, 2024.

Batman: Arkham Shadow

Batman arrives in the world of VR with Arkham Shadow. While we didn’t see any gameplay in today’s cinematic trailer, here’s hoping flying around as the dark knight himself in first-person will be as exciting as it sounds. Arkham Shadow arrives exclusively on Meta Quest 3 in Fall, 2024.

Street Fighter 6

The next fighter pack for Street Fighter 6 arrives with Bison, which is very exciting. But don’t take my word for it. Kotaku’s Kenneth Shepard is very eager to tell you why this is so awesome. Additionally, Fatal Fury’s Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui make the leap to Street Fighter this year.

Tears of Metal

Tears of Metal showed off some polygonal highland combat in the rain-drenched dark woods of Scotland. Said combat looks like it’ll feature large amounts of foes, bloody kills, and more with its roguelike, cooperative action.

Dragon Ball Sparkling Zero

The cast of Dragon Ball Z returns to do epic battles against each other once more in Dragon Ball Sparkling Zero. The game arrives on October 11, 2024.

Delta Force Hawk Ops

I do love me an extraction shooter, so I’m certainly keeping an eye on Delta Force Hawk Ops. The trailer features a slow-paced approach to a target zone that leads to a more hectic shootout (complete with, of course, fake gamer co-operative speak), which is enough to convince me that this game might be worth keeping an eye on. We also got a look at its “Black Hawk Down” campaign mode.

Fatal Fury: City Of Wolves

Fatal Fury: City of Wolves arrives on in early 2025 with its very stylishly animated combat.

Battle Crush

With isometric, character-based combat, Battle Crushed showed off its cartoonish styles and elaborate fighting moves.

Mecha Break

Who doesn’t love big robots beating the crap out of each other? Today’s trailer for Mecha Break showed off a wild variety of different ways to kit out and fight with your mechs.

Blumhouse Games Showcase

Blumhouse Games offered up a sizzle reel at Summer Game Fest showcasing a variety of different spooky titles, each with delightfully hellacious horror themes and set in different genres. Fear The Spotlight is the first game expected to launch later in 2024.

Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind

Oh, hey, it’s morphin’ time apparently. The Power Rangers are back with a slick-looking reto-styled beat ‘em up. You can Wishlist Rita’s Rewind on Steam right now.

Deer and Boy

Oh, this one was hard not to get a little emotional while watching. With an adorable deer companion and spooky environments, Deer and Boy looks like it’ll make me cry at least once, I’m sure.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II

With its brutal medieval combat themes, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II promises first-person sword-fighting, cross-bow shooting, and other ways to take out your foes in profanity-laden brutality.

Slitherhead

Slitherhead showed off a gory and spooky vision of a city filled with demonic entities and melee combat alongside gunplay.

Killer Bean

In what looks like GTA meets Max Payne and so, so much more, Killer Bean lets you take on the role of Killer Bean, an elite killer out for some revenge with remarkably absurd looking-characters.

Cairn

Promising realistic climbing challenges and some dizzying heights, Cairn aims to deliver punishing challenges in your pursuit of reaching the summit of an impossibly tall mountain.

Wanderstop

Mixing up some farming sim action with tea-shop management, Wanderstop sees its protagonist trying to simply enjoy a simple life. It’s highly unlikely, though, that things will remain very simple, as this game was developed by The Stanley Parable creator Davey Wreden.

Unknown9 Awakening

Unknown9: Awakening features an unconventional fantasy setting with a character out for revenge against a foe who has wronged her.

Enotria: The Last Song

Though it only showed off a cinematic trailer, Enotria: The Last Song might be worth keeping an eye on if you’re into eclectic fantasy settings, and like the idea of melee action fused with magic.

The First Descendant

This free-to-play shooter showed off its scenic sci-fi aesthetic and some hints at its speedy gameplay via a cinematic trailer during today’s show.

Outersloth Showcase

The Among Us folks took to the stage to show off a number of different indie games on the horizon.

Among Us TV Show

TV adaptations of video games show no sign of slowing down. Among Us is coming our way with Patton Oswalt, Ashley Johnson, Elijah Wood, and more aboard.

Sonic x Shadow Generations

Sonic and Shadow are set to once again go as fast as possible while looking super cool. Featuring two campaigns with Sonic and Shadow in a massive collection of levels, Sonic x Shadow Generations arrives in October, 2024.

Dune Awakening

What if Paul Atreides was a girl? Careful. Thoughts like that’ll get ya in trouble. Dune Awakening speculates about some dramatic changes to Dune’s lore as the basis for its open-world survival MMO.

Battle Aces

Battle Aces bills itself as an “RTS for everyone” with a more approachable take on the classic genre. As a genre, RTSes can be a little exclusive, so check this one out if you’ve struggled to get into other titles.

The Finals Season Three

The Finals is getting a new ranked mode, as well as some new weapons and gadgets to throw at your enemies. The new season launches on June 13.

Alan Wake II Physical Edition and Night Springs

Bam! We’re getting physical editions of Alan Wake II later this year. But that wasn’t all that Sam Lake, creative director of Remedy, had to show off. Night Springs, an expansion to AWII, features variations of three different characters from the Remedyverse (Rose, Tim Breaker, and our girl Jesse Faden) and is playable tomorrow, June 8, 2024. Here. We. Go!

New World: Aeternum

Amazon’s MMO New World is getting an expansion and is coming to consoles this year.

Honkai Star Rail Patch 2.3

The Hoyoverse continues to grow with Honkai Star Rail’s next update. Today’s trailer showed off the game’s stylish action, gorgeous character designs, and some fun tunes.

Dark and Darker

Dark and Darker showed off some intense dungeon crawls against vicious creatures lurking underground, all in the promise of discovering great loot and claiming victory against hordes of deadly beings.

Kunitsu-Gami Path of the Goddess

Capcom gave us another look at its role-based sword swordfighting game, Kunitsu-Gami Path of the Goddess.

Hyper Light Breaker

With some slick tunes and stylish neon accents in its artsy fantasy world, Hyper Late Breaker arrives in late summer 2024 via early access.

Party Animals

What’s better than being a clumsy furry? Well, if you watched today’s trailer for Party Animals, then you’d know there’s not much else better than this. How do you not fall in love with this game?

Skate

Everything’s fine, don’t you know? Well, its certainly fine if you were looking forward to a new Skate. Console playtesting arrives in fall 2024.

Palworld

Possible legal issues haven’t stopped ‘em yet. Via a new trailer today, Palworld showed off its new cherry blossom-filled island and some new Pals wroth capturing and, uh, putting to hard labor. The new trailer also promised some new buildings, subspecies of Pals, dedicated servers for Xbox in addition to a new raid, and so much more.

Valorant

It’s no secret that Valorant and I have a history. I’ve been reluctant to dive back in, but today’s trailer might be enough to tempt me once more. At least this time I don’t have to risk my computer when my PS5 will do just fine. Valorant comes to Xbox and PS5 on June 14, 2024.

Monster Hunter Wilds

I’m just gonna say it, Monster Hunter Wilds looks sick. And today’s trailer showed off exactly why. With a gripping showdown against some vicious sand creatures and some beautiful desert vistas, Wilds looks set to deliver some intense and epic moments.

Phantom Blade 0

Phantom Blade 0 got a new trailer as the last game on stage at this year’s Summer Game Fest. Fusing a dark fantasy setting with feudal Japan vibes, the combat almost gives off some Bloodborne vibes with its speedy bloodiness.

And that wraps everything we saw at Summer Game Fest 2024. It’s a lot to take in, but there’s more than a few things to get excited about here for sure.
