  2. #2 Best Places to Live in FloridaHyde Park - Spanishtown CreekNeighborhood in Tampa, FL·Rating 5 out of 5 4 reviewsCurrent Resident: This neighborhood is on the edge of Downtown Tampa. It has a mix of Single Family Homes, Apartments, Townhomes, and Multi-Families. It's called Spanish Town Creek /Hyde Park after both the original developer of the area and Spanish Town Creek Waterway. Due to development over the years, the waterway has been covered up and it a now a subterranean creek. It was one of the first developed areas in Tampa. Near Univerity of Tampa, Bayshore, and Downtown. We have lived here several years and it is very safe with access to all A schools from elementary to High School and 15-minute walk to downtown. Spanishtown Creek, an area near where occupied by Spanish speaking fishermen during the era of Spanish control of La Florida before Fort Brooke was established.Spanishtown is believed to have been established in the mid to late-18th century. 7. #6 Best Places to Live in FloridaNorth QuarterNeighborhood in Orlando, FL·Rating 4.5 out of 5 2 reviewsFormer Resident: I rented a condo in the North Quarter for 3 years (Uptown), the condo experience itself was convenient for the time but had tons of issues with water, fire alarms, and rowdy residents. North Quarter itself is extremely convenient for commuting as you have access to I4 and Colonial (50) right away. It is very close to a major hospital system, and lots of local boutiques and restaurants. Although it is easy to get to your destination there is a ton of traffic. I would say the benefit to North Quarter is the diversity, proximity to restaurants and popular Orlando neighborhoods, and the bike trail. We took advantage of the Urban Bike Trail for both biking and walking. I wouldn't say I felt totally safe at night as there were often drunk or questionable people, but during the day there were no issues (walking Virginia, Ivan Hoe, etc). For a working professional this location cannot be beat.... Not particularly affordable if you have a large family. Easy commute if you work downtown. Lots of parks and walking paths. Extremely walkable. Close to lots of great restaurants. We'll miss that about Baldwin Park. We're moving to Horizon West for two reasons:First, the schools may have been good in the past but our kids had a poor experience at Glenridge Middle School. The second reason we're moving is that some of the areas immediately surrounding Baldwin Park are not the greatest. 11. #10 Best Places to Live in FloridaWestchaseSuburb of Tampa, FL·Rating 4.28 out of 5 50 reviewsOther: I like the parks there is access to, as an older sister I can easily take out my younger sibling on a bike ride to the park and get there safely. I also enjoy the events the community makes, they organize races and light the big Christmas tree, there is also a small Christmas parade in which cars are decorated and characters such as Disney characters and Santa are on these cars saying “hello” to children. Something I hope Westchase can improve on is on Halloween night and that is to properly dispose of candy wrappers, streets after Halloween are usually very dirty.... 18. #17 Best Places to Live in FloridaBeach ParkNeighborhood in Tampa, FL·Rating 5 out of 5 5 reviewsCurrent Resident: I've grown up in this neighborhood and will be here until I attend college. This area is a welcoming place to grow up in; schools are nearby, the streets are lined with trees, and everyone knows everyone here. My parents would throw block parties and have hundreds of people attend for a good time, I'd make friends with the neighborhood kids and never be bored during the summer. Overall it's just a kind place to have kids or retire into. There's currently an empty lot that can't be built on due to all of the neighborhood's plumbing lines running under it. Good use of this lot could be a public playground for the neighborhood, but the city planners keep the lot empty. I'd love for this to change.... It's a wonderful place to raise a family. I have lived here for over 18 years and have enjoyed every minute of it! The residents are friendly and always willing to lend a hand or come together to socialize. The strong sense of community is what has kept us here for so long. The HOA and Master Board work hard to keep this community functioning and looking its best. The grounds are beautiful and so well maintained. The area is surrounded by a preserve, so it is abundant with natural life. The parks, club, and many community events provide such a fun and full lifestyle for all ages. The local public schools are amazing with dedicated administration and faculty. My children have thrived, not only in this community but at each school they have attended around here.
